History
Prior to 1994, WPFJ was WLTM (owned by Joe Henry)
and WAJA (owned by Apple Savage and J.C. Jacobs), carrying
country music.
WPFJ signed on the air in 1994 with 5000 watts. With
the call letters echoing the format, With Praise For
Jesus (WPFJ), WPFJ is the only Christian format station
in Macon County, North Carolina. With its format of
contemporary Christian music and family oriented programming,
WPFJ remains unique in the area. Listeners can hear
some of the top Christian and family programming in
the country including Focus on the Family with Dr. James
Dobson, Love Worth Finding with the Late Dr. Adrian
Rogers, The Hour of Decisions with Dr. Billy Graham,
the Urban Alternative with Dr. Tony Evans, and Adventures
in Odyssey.
